Nearly 1 in 5 troops has mental problems after war service

WASHINGTON - Roughly one in every five U.S. troops who have survived the bombs and other dangers of Iraq and Afghanistan now suffers from major depression or post-traumatic stress, an independent study said Thursday. It estimated the toll at 300,000 or more.

As if its not enough for them to be risking their lives. This is really sad.

It is not new to this war. Vets coming home from all wars suffer this and there is little debate regarding the U.S. Government needing to provide better care for the returning troops.

Well heck! If I was in the war myself then I would probably be in the same condition because of all the things that I would of experienced! Just like that movie that we saw, those men only killed others because they were their enemies but each and everyone of them are humans just like us.

going off of what joan said, I would agree that i would feel the same way. I know they people think they wont be in that mental state of mind. but if i was going to someone elses war I would probably get the same feelings because we really are killing someone who could be a friend if you got to know them. it almost seems pointless.
