Conn. Students To Get Cash For Passing AP Tests

WATERBURY, Conn. (AP) ― Students who pass Advanced Placement tests at Wilby High School in Waterbury will be getting hard cold cash rewards.

Mr. Caro, I won't be at school Thurs or Fri, and I recall you said that people will be notified regarding NHS those days? Will mail be sent home if we make it?

Not to worry! Yes, there will be letters that go home starting Friday.

Good for them. I wish that I was getting money for taking a test.

Imagine if it was for ALL tests, not just AP or IB! I think attendance would go up on test days!

In my day students didn't get money for taking tests. They earned sea shells and dirty rocks for taking tests.

We also hoofed it a lot.

It's an interesting way to motivate students. It will defintely improve attendance and probably attention in class. I think this is a positive thing especially since the money is coming from an outside source, not the school district itself.
