hey mr. caro!
about how long should our essay be?

Saraga,

I know you don't want this for an answer, but don't worry about length, just the ideas. The length will take care of itself. Does that help or no?

Cheers!

I'm not sure, because i was talking to someone, and they said 5-6 pages, but i was thinking more along the lines of 2-3 pages. I just wanted to make sure that i'm not totally off.

Mr. Caro said...

5 pages is closer I think.

Mr. Caro said...

But keep in mind, as you write the essay, I think you will see how 2 pages are not enough.

Hey Mr. Caro, I received some information from the study thing you had after school. One part of it says that when I give a definition, I should explain it as well? Isn't the definition the explanation? Or should I elaborate as much as I can?

Thanks!

And thank you for the enlightening semester!

Kyle,

Right so, you need to define the disorder and then explain its characteristics/symptoms.

Great job today Kyle!

Ooh, ok. I thought it meant, explain the definition of the disorder, which didn't make sense... But it's really just explain the disorder thoroughly, which is a given.

Hey quick question. What is CBT, and what does it do??

I think it is a drug, and I know its used in treating eating disorders. But I don't have anymore data then that.

Thank

You can ignore my question Mr. Caro

Micah!

CBT sounds like a drug! I like that assumption. Not a bad guess.

Hey Caro! I was wondering, for tomorrow's debate can we do some research online about Genie?

Hey Caro, when we talk about the people with the what disorder we are talking about do we say people, person, they, them, or do we just try not to reference them?

psycholdynamic therapy. I know we went over a bit of this in class, but how does it help the clients?

Mr. Caro said...

Micah,

A response to requires a longer explanation than what I can provide here. In short, psychoanalysis (Freud's method of therapy) aims to unlock "psychic energy" stuck at psychosexual stage of development. He called it psychic energy for lack of a better term.

Hey Caro, one more questions. (wow, this is more questions then I think I have asked all year!)

Do you know what the percent is of Americans having an eating disorder is vs. the rest of the world.

Mr. Caro said...

Micah,

That is a very difficult question to answer. I can say this, The U.S. sees about 5 million diagnosed cases. Brazil about 3 million and UK and France about 1 million each. The other nations are under 1 million.

In short, in the US, 1% of all females develop an ED.
